Disney's Camp Rocker Alyson Stoner goes At Bat for Kids to fight childhood obesity

Alyson Stoner slides into Tempe Diablo Stadium on May 22 at 5:00 p.m. to raise awareness of childhood obesity with the At Bat for Kids softball game & healthy kids expo

    TEMPE, AZ, May 21, 2010 /Nonprofit PR News/ -- With childhood obesity rates flying out of the park, the At Bat for Kids event is throwing the hat on the field with a charity softball game & healthy kids expo featuring actress, dancer, and singer, Alyson Stoner to encourage children to get fit and be active. Stoner is best known for her roles on Disney Channel's Camp Rock with the Jonas Brothers, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, Phineas & Ferb and her roles in the feature films, Cheaper by the Dozen, and Step Up! with Channing Tatum.

Admission is $5, children 10 and younger are Free. Tickets will be available for purchase Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Tempe Diablo Stadium box office - 2200 W. Alameda, Dr., Tempe, Ariz. Admission includes: Meet & greets with Alyson Stoner and Jonnie & Brookie, bounce houses, giveaways, "edutainment" stations, stage performances from the Tempe Dance Academy and Karate for Kids, softball game, the healthy kids expo with free samples of First Juice and Powerade PLAY. The evening will conclude with a Concert featuring, Jonnie & Brookie, Radio Disney's Next Big Thing Contest Winners.

Stoner has become a trailblazer in the "tween" community by motivating children to lead healthy lifestyles. Her previous project, the Nintendo Wii's "Get Wii Fit with Alyson, demonstrated Wii Fit exercises with the balance board. Her most recent project, "The Alyson Stoner Project" (ASP) co-created with Kevin Schmidt (Cheaper by the Dozen and The Young & the Restless). The ASP is a high energy, heart-pumping exhilarating mash up of dance and fitness, featuring other well-known Young Hollywood stars. Stoner's extensive dance background comes from years of training and performing with some of today's hottest artists, Will Smith, Missy Elliot, Eminem and Outkast.

The At Bat for Kids event begins Saturday at 5:00 p.m. Live stage performances and Alyson Stoner autograph signing will begin at 5:30 p.m. Fans can cheer Stoner on during the At Bat for Kids charity softball game at 7:00 p.m. followed by the Jonnie & Brookie concert at 8:00 p.m.
