Brain tumors affect over 200,000 people each year, nearly the same number that are affected with breast cancer, and many are left with brain injuries and deficits resulting from the brain tumor. Miles for Hope, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, founded by brain cancer survivor Robert Gibbs, as a means to combat the disease. Robert has survived over 6 years since his diagnosis in 2004, thanks to an experimental brain cancer vaccine he received. However, he was left with several residual deficits from his battle with brain cancer. "Through our organization, patients can find information on the latest, most advanced treatment options available for the treatment of brain tumors and brain cancer." stated Gibbs. "Most people are unaware of the magnitude of this disease, and how devastating this can be to both an individual and a family. As an organization, our mission is to provide funding to cutting edge brain tumor treatments that are less invasive, and provide for a better quality of life. This can only be accomplished through individual and corporate contributions to Miles for Hope"
More information on this event as well as brain tumor signs, symptoms and treatment options, can be found on the Miles for Hope website at http://www.MilesForHope.org or contacting them at (727) 781-HOPE (4673). Donations can also be made online through the website.
