New Management Team for Completion House, Inc.

Affiliated Company of Spectrum Human Services, Inc. Offers Residential Substance Abuse Treatment for Adults

    WESTLAND, MI, June 23, 2010 /Nonprofit PR News/ -- Roger Swaninger, President & CEO of Spectrum Human Services, Inc., has announced a new management team for Completion House, Inc., an affiliated company of Spectrum Human Services, Inc.

§ In addition to serving as the Executive Director of Spectrum Child & Family Services, Shirley D. Edwards has accepted the position of Executive Director of Completion House, Inc. Shirley, a licensed master social worker, has been employed with Spectrum for 22 years in several management positions including Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Operations. She is also a team leader and peer reviewer for the Council on Accreditation (COA), the national accreditation agency for child and family programs.

§ Richard MacFarlane has been named Program Director of the Turning Point Recovery Program, the treatment program of Completion House, Inc. Richard, a licensed psychologist and certified addiction counselor, has over 22 years of experience in mental health treatment services. He previously served as the Clinical Director of Insight Recovery in Clarkston and Sequoia Recovery Centers in Pontiac. Richard is also an adjunct instructor at the University of Detroit-Mercy.

Located in Oakland and Lapeer counties, Completion House, Inc. offers the Turning Point Recovery Program, a residential substance abuse treatment program for adults. Founded in 1989, Turning Point helps chronically addicted adults rehabilitate their lives with a combination of individual and group therapy sessions, social skill assessment, community referrals and 24-hour crisis intervention services. There are four programs for men and women including:
§ Short Term Residential Treatment (thirty days or less);
§ Long-Term Residential Treatment (three to six months);
§ Transitional Housing, and
§ Independent Living Program

Referrals for the Turning Point Recovery Program come from a variety of sources including county courts, correctional facilities, health departments and county mental health providers. Interested parties may call (248) 836-0191 or (800) 700-9063 for inquiries or admission information.
