Women's Professional Networking Group Event to Feature Speaker from Office of the Governor of California

Southern California Ladies in Corporate Social Responsibility will welcome Karen Kukurin, Deputy Director and Community Liaison for the Office of Governor Arnold Schwartzenegger

TORONTO, CANADA, July 02, 2010 /Nonprofit PR News/ -- Southern California Ladies in Corporate Social Responsibility has announced their second networking event for July 14, 2010, at the Courtyard by Marriott LAX from 6:30PM to 8:30PM. The event is an opportunity for members to get to know the organization's new board members, be introduced to the organization's new mission statement, and hear inspirational words from special guest speaker, Karen Kukurin, Deputy Director and Community Liaison for the Office of Governor Arnold Schwartzenegger.
"We are excited that Ms. Kukurin is speaking at the event," says Gina Gelber, one of the new directors on the board of the organization. "Her presence acknowledges the potential of this organization in promoting both socially responsible business practices and the role of women in business in the State of California."
Ms. Kukurin is based in Los Angeles and is responsible for being the "eyes and the ears" of the Governor, acting as a conduit between the community and state government in Sacramento. She was appointed to the role in 2004, after a successful career in public relations where she had the distinction of being the first woman vice president of The Employer's Group, an advocacy organization.
Although this is only the second networking event the organization has held, it is being seen as a seminal event since it will be the first opportunity for members to meet the board and take in the new mission statement. Currently, the organization is accepting new members. Women living and working in Southern California and who work in the corporate social responsibility sector are welcome to attend the event. Interested parties should RSVP by email at socalladiesincsr@gmail.com.
