Project Read Combines Learning with Fun
Project Read's Fourth Annual Spelling Bee Serves as Fundraiser
PROVO, UT, August 20, 2010 /Nonprofit PR News/ -- Turn off the spell check and get ready to match wits. Project Read's fourth annual adult spelling bee is a great opportunity to get involved in the community and relive some childhood memories.
The Project Read Spelling Bee is scheduled for Saturday September 11, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the ballroom of the Provo City Library. Teams of three will battle for prizes and the spelling bee title by correctly spelling words few people use, all in the name of fun and helping others.
However, Project Read's spelling bee will be quite different from those in grade school. Teams of three will compete while wearing silly and extravagant costumes as they huddle together over white boards to determine the correct spelling of each word. Prizes will be awarded for best team name, best team costume etc. And if three heads aren't enough, lifelines are also available. But those lifelines don't come without a competitive cost.
Lifelines and teams will be sponsored by local companies. This is a great opportunity for local businesses to gain recognition while supporting the community and education in Utah County. All money generated by this event will benefit Project Read and its students and is tax deductible.
