TEANECK, NJ, May 26, 2010 /Stanford Who's Who/ -- Stephen Philip Cohen PhD has been accepted among the ranks of leading professionals with Stanford Who's Who as a result of his incredible service in the development of peace. As President of The Institute for Middle East Peace & Development, as well as throughout his brilliant 40 year professional career, Dr. Cohen has consistently demonstrated the passion, vision and dedication necessary to be among the best.

The Institute for Middle East Peace and Development is an independent, not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation which is dedicated to peace-making and peace-building in the Middle East, with special attention to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. They are a pioneer in Track II diplomacy, facilitating confidential discussions between Israeli and Arab leaders in both the public and private sectors. The organization works diligently towards solutions in mutual respect and understanding through dialogue, development, and education.

Dr. Cohen established The Institute for Middle East Peace & Development in 1979 in order to serve expressly as a venue for confidential, Track II Arab-Israeli dialogue. Dr. Cohen created the first secret official negotiations between Israel and the PLO years before Oslo under the supervision of Chairman Arafat and Shimon Peres, launching the premier intermediaries of Israeli Prime Ministers and Yasser Arafat until the collapse of the peace process in the second intifada.

During his educational career, Dr. Cohen earned his PhD as a Social Psychologist from Harvard in 1972. He was instrumental in the release of Beyond America's Grasp, A Century of Failed Diplomacy in the Middle East by Ferrah Strus and Gerrea in November of 2009. Dr. Cohen also appears of the Charles C.
