Morgan Drexen Supports the Inaugural Walk for Wishes in Orange County
Morgan Drexen, a provider of integrated legal support and an array of front end and back end services to law firms, supports the inaugural Walk for Wishes in Orange County.
COSTA MESA, CA, April 24, 2011 /Nonprofit PR News/ -- The inaugural Orange County Walk for Wishes was an enormous hit as one thousand walkers braved the heat.
1,000 participants including Wish children and their families walked to raise funds for deserving children. OC Great Park was the destination as walkers took to the tarmac to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Orange County. Sponsors for the event included The Sheckler Foundation, OC Custom Wine, Disneyland and Costa Mesa- based Morgan Drexen.
The event raised just under $115,000 according to Sarah Pizzaruso, Development Manager for the Orange County Make-A-Wish Chapter. "Goals were set and broken on this event. We really wanted the focus to be less on the walk and more on the festive atmosphere, next year promises to bring even more events to the walk."
Despite recovering from a recent hip replacement Morgan Drexen CEO Walter Ledda walked the entire two miles, unaided by his walking stick. "We are thrilled to be part of the inaugural walk in Orange County, it was a great day, and we exceeded our goals both in fundraising and the number of walkers. Twenty-one percent of our entire company walked and it was wonderful to see so many people walking for such a great cause," says Ledda.

The attorneys supported by Morgan Drexen help consumers struggling with high levels of debt. Morgan Drexen supported attorneys have reduced almost $240 million in consumer debt.
Morgan Drexen raised enough funds to grant a special wish. "It is amazing how the simplest of activities can raise so much money. It was wonderful to be awarded with a plaque showing photos of a trip taken by a wish child. The wishes are often so simple and we are thrilled to play a small part in the work of the Make-A-Wish Foundation ," says Susan Muzilla, Director of Strategic Planning at Morgan Drexen
