Optimist International President Invited on Stage to Present 'Bringing Out the Best' Award to David Copperfield
The international President of Optimist International, one of the world's largest service organizations, is presenting an award on stage April 26 at 7:30 p.m. to David Copperfield at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for his work with Project Magic.
LAS VEGAS, NV, April 22, 2011 /Nonprofit PR News/ -- The international president of Optimist International, one of the world's largest service organizations, is presenting a "Bringing Out the Best" Award to David Copperfield on stage during his 7:30 p.m. show April 26 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for his work with Project Magic. Project Magic is a worldwide, medically-certified program that uses magic as therapy to aid physically challenged patients in rehabilitation.
"For years, I've followed David's work and he is such an inspiration to kids everywhere. He shows them that childhood dreams can come true," Optimist President Danny Rodgers said. "Giving David this award shows kids and adults that having dreams and a positive attitude will take you far in life."
The "Bringing Out the Best" Award is given at the Optimist president's discretion and recognizes individuals who exemplify the Optimist Creed through their commitment to helping others and spreading optimism.
"David created Project Magic over 20 years ago and it's amazing to see how it has grown over the years. It's more than just assisting the patients. His program is designed to be fun and help build patients' self-esteem," Rodgers said.
Rodgers will present the award along with a Friend of Optimists membership. The Friend of Optimists membership is for individuals to show their support for Optimist International and can be bestowed on an individual who has contributed to their community in a significant way.
