Band Together NC Announces Event Co-Chairs for 2012
Leonhardt, Graves & Clinard to Lead Fundraising Effort for Urban Ministries
RALEIGH, NC, July 16, 2011 /Nonprofit PR News/ -- Band Together NC, a Triangle-area nonprofit that uses music to raise funds and awareness for other local nonprofits, has announced that Kelly Leonhardt, Jim Graves and Caitlin Clinard have been selected as event co-chairs for 2012.
Leonhardt, Graves and Clinard will lead fundraising and public awareness efforts on behalf of Urban Ministries of Wake County, Band Together's nonprofit partner for 2012. Urban Ministries seeks to alleviate poverty in Wake County through meeting people's basic needs for food, shelter and healthcare.
Band Together's May 2011 concert featuring Third Eye Blind attracted more than 5,500 attendees and raised more than $478,000 for Alliance Medical Ministry. In an effort to once again "raise the bar," the net fundraising goal for 2012 is $600,000.
Leonhardt is a development associate with Urban Ministries and will manage all aspects of the nonprofit's performance to ensure that the partnership is a success. She served as the 2011 follow-up chair for Band Together and was named the organization's Rookie of the Year Volunteer in 2010. Leonhardt's duties for 2012 will focus on fundraising, concert promotion and raising awareness.
Graves is a lead sales consultant for David Weekley Homes. A volunteer with Band Together for eight years, he has served in various leadership roles including ticketing chair and co-chair for the setup and facilities committees. He also played a prominent role on the VIP committee. Graves also chaired this year's inaugural Last Band Standing event in which local bands competed for an opening slot at the main event. For 2012, he will focus on ticket sales, logistics and follow-up.
Clinard serves as director of communications and marketing for Maxwell3 and the Capital Food Group. Her co-chair focus for 2012 will be on communications, finance, the silent auction and volunteer coordination. This is Clinard's fourth year serving as a Band Together steering committee member, where she has been heavily involved with the communications and silent auction committees.
"We have three very dedicated and passionate co-chairs for 2012, each with specific expertise that will complement each other very well," says Danny Rosin, Band Together president and co-founder. "This co-chair role is a privilege as well as a responsibility. Our hope is that tremendous personal growth will be the outcome as well as a large net result for Urban Ministries."
