Patients of St. Mary's Healthcare System for Children Invited to Citi Field to Watch Their Favorite New York Baseball Team in Action, Courtesy of The New York Mets
St. Mary's Kids and staff enjoyed a day at Citi Field watching the New York Mets take on the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday, July 17th, 2011.
BAYSIDE, NY, July 21, 2011 /Nonprofit PR News/ -- On Sunday, July 17th, 2011 patients and staff of St. Mary's Healthcare System for Children were invited to watch the New York Mets face off with the Philadelphia Phillies at Citi Field, courtesy of the New York Mets.
As the sun shined down on Citi Field and baseballs flew overhead, St. Mary's kids put on their game faces and cheered on Mets players from the bleachers, waving and screaming.
St. Mary's kids, some of the region's most seriously ill and injured children battling complex medical and life-limiting conditions, couldn't get enough of the baseball action. This was an opportunity of a lifetime for them as it was an experience they may not otherwise have had.
Although Mets fans were disappointed with the end score of 8-5, Philadelphia taking it home, St. Mary's Kids were still very proud of their New York Baseball heroes and look forward to returning to the field very soon.
