Freedom Marathon, Inc. Participates in Norfolk Project Homeless Connect 11

FMI Staff members will assist Project Connect serve the Norfolk Homeless Community

    LUTZ, FL, August 26, 2011 /Nonprofit PR News/ -- VA- Freedom Marathon, Inc. will participate in the annual Norfolk Homeless Project Connect. The event will take place on Sept. 14 from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Norfolk Scope Exhibit Hall located at 201 E. Brambleton Ave, Norfolk, VA 23510. Freedom Marathon, Inc (FMI) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to raise awareness and support the needs of Veterans and their families through running events.

The Norfolk Homeless Connect is sponsored by City of Norfolk Office to End Homelessness whose mission is to assist in the development of workable implementation strategies that will end homelessness in the City of Norfolk within ten years.

Volunteers are needed to support a range of activities which include client support, community outreach, food distribution, client assessment, medical evaluations and more. To see the complete list please visit the Norfolk Project Homeless Connect 11 website.

"This is great opportunity for our Freedom Marathon volunteers to show support to the homeless members of our community," said Freedom Marathon, Inc., CEO and Founder, Manny Cordero. "It is important that we continue to provide support and resources to raise awareness about the needs of our homeless population, many of whom have severed our nation in uniform," Cordero said.

FMI staff continues to prepare for their Inaugural Norfolk Half Freedom Marathon to be held Veterans Day weekend, Nov.11-13. The weekend includes fun for the entire family while honoring those that have served this country in uniform.
