Tampa Nonprofit Repairs Home for Deserving Single Mother and Five Children
The Hope for Homes Project provides much needed home repairs for East Tampa single mother while offering hope and restoration for her family
LUTZ, FL, August 20, 2011 /Nonprofit PR News/ -- Current of Tampa Bay will sponsor their third Hope for Homes Project during the weekend of Sept. 9-11. Hope For Homes Projects provide remodeling and improvement work on homes owned by low and middle income families. The first two projects provided Tampa families with much needed home repairs and a sense of hope that they were not alone in their daily life struggles.
"I have met several times with the family and they are encouraged by the support we are providing to help repair their home," said Franklin Cruz, President of TradeMark Property Management and Co-founder of Hope for Homes Project. The Hope For Homes (HFH) Project is a program of Current.
"There is just something special about this family," according to Jason Sowell, Founder/President of Current Co-founder of the Hope For Homes Project. With a monthly income far lower than the poverty level of Tampa Bay, the family of six is doing all they can to make ends meet. The family includes a mother who is also a pre-kindergarten teacher and her four adopted children whose ages range from 7-17 and a two-year-old grandchild.
Home repairs for this family will include: air conditioner, roof repair, drywall repair, interior and exterior painting and lawn maintenance. HFH projects generally range from small remodel or repair jobs to more extensive needed repairs which help Tampa families enjoy a better quality of life. The projects are completed in a single weekend by dedicated volunteers. The budgets can range from $3,500 - $20,000.
If you are interested in helping to sponsor this family or interested in learning more about the Hope for Homes Project contact Jason Sowell at hfh@engagethecurrent.org or at 727.537.9082. Hope for Homes is in need of in-kind donations, supplies as well as entertainment and hotel accommodations for the family.
