Cheryl A. Wicks Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Outreach & Human Services

Cheryl A. Wicks is dedicated to offering assistance to the intellectually and developmentally disabled

GRAND JUNCTION, CO, January 04, 2011 /Nonprofit PR News/ -- Cheryl A. Wicks, Program Coordinator for MOSAIC, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Outreach & Human Services. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named professionals of the year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements and leadership abilities.

With eight years of experience in mental health care and the nonprofit sector, Cheryl A. Wicks is best noted as an expert in intellectual and developmental disabilities. In January 2010, she became a program coordinator for MOSAIC, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing human services for disabled individuals. In this capacity, Mrs. Wicks is responsible for supporting adults with developmental disabilities, developing behavior management plans, handling budgeting and yearly evaluations, conducting training, and overseeing quality assurance, employee engagement, and OSHA compliance.

Always with a heart for people facing challenges in life, Mrs. Wicks cites her late aunt, Patty Handeland, as a great personal inspiration. Courageous and upbeat, Mrs. Handeland battled cancer three times and refused to allow her disease to control her life. Though she recently lost her fight, she remains a role model to her niece, who aspires to be a paragon of positivism, dedication and commitment.

Mrs. Wicks earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2002 from Georgetown College, and is certified in First Aid and CPR. She is a member of Alpha Gamma Delta. Mrs. Wicks hopes to advance her career at MOSAIC in the coming years.
