Cary Visual Art to Showcase Local and National Artists at 15th Annual Art Ball
Nov. 4 Charity Event to Raise Money for Public Art
CARY, NC, October 12, 2011 /Nonprofit PR News/ -- Cary Visual Art (CVA), a local nonprofit organization supporting public art displays in the community, is pleased to present A Royal Affair, the 15th Annual Art Ball in celebration of the arts in Cary. The Art Ball will be held on Friday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. at MacGregor Downs Country Club.
This annual black-tie event, which raises awareness for the commissioning and placement of public art in Cary, will feature cocktails, dinner, live music by The Shakedown, dancing and a juried silent art auction.
The silent art auction preview will be exhibited in window space at Millpond Village during the month of October in celebration of National Arts and Humanities Month. Artwork includes paintings, sculpture, photography, fine prints, ceramics, fiber arts and jewelry. The selection features well-known names such as Paris Alexander, Constance Pappalardo, Pam Shank, Gustavo de los Rios, Jeanette Brossart, Warren Hicks and Eduardo Lapetina, as well as emerging artists such as Tim Lee, Craig Greiner, Dona Nova and Anne Marie Iselin.
"In our 15 years as an arts organization in the Triangle, this is most enthusiastic response we've seen from a Call to Artists. In less than a month, we received over 150 submissions from 48 artists across the region," said Clare Sifford, programs director for Cary Visual Art. "Supporting artists in our community and giving them a resource to promote their artwork is CVA's core mission. What better time to do this than when CVA is celebrating our 15th anniversary?"
The public is invited to participate in an evening of artistic celebration at the Art Ball. Sponsorship opportunities and tickets ($250/individual) are now available. For more information, visit www.caryvisualart.org, email cva@caryvisualart.org, or call 919-531-8149.
