BGCOP hosts 22nd Annual Kids Auction - Nov. 19
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme will host the 22nd Annual Donald K. Facciano KidsAuction 5:30 - 10 p.m., Nov. 19 at the Residence Inn by Marriott Hotel, 2101 W. Vineyard Ave., Oxnard.
WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA, November 02, 2011 /Nonprofit PR News/ -- The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme will host the 22nd Annual Donald K. Facciano KidsAuction 5:30 - 10 p.m., Nov. 19 at the Residence Inn by Marriott Hotel, 2101 W. Vineyard Ave., Oxnard. Also known as the Black and White Gala, the event is the organization's largest special event fundraiser. All proceeds help fund programs at the 18 Boys & Girls Clubs sites within Oxnard and Port Hueneme, which serve more than 7,500 youth. Last year, more than 350 attendees helped the club raise $350,000, and organizers aim to raise even more this year.
The evening will include silent and live auctions, a gourmet dinner, cocktails, wine, and a vodka and tequila tasting. Noted ventriloquist/comedian Kevin Johnson will provide entertainment.
Receiving special honors at this year's event is the Gene Haas Foundation. The foundation is being recognized for contributions it has made to the Club and to the community. "The Gene Haas Foundation has always been a great supporter ours. They have helped in Capital Campaigns and annually for many years. They are truly one of the good guys when it comes to giving back and being a strong Corporate Champion. Their support of the Club is much appreciated," said Tim Blaylock, chief professional officer of the Club.
Haas is a presenting sponsor of this year's auction. Other major sponsors include The Gas Company, Bunnin Automotive Group, VCDSA, Sysco Food Services of Ventura, Southern California Edison, DMI, Rabobank, City National Bank, First California Bank, County Commerce Bank, and Sunbelt.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Oxnard and Port Hueneme exists to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens. Program areas offered to youth include character and leadership development, education and career development, health and life skills, the arts, computer training and sports/fitness/recreation opportunities.
