Sensational Secretary Treasurer Joins The Ranks Of Stanford Who's Who

Stanford Who's Who welcomes Dr. Melvin Pohlkotte to the ranks of leading professionals as a result of his remarkable work in Public Service.

SODDY-DAISY, TN, March 3, 2011 /Stanford Who's Who/ -- Stanford Who's Who welcomes Dr. Melvin Pohlkotte to the ranks of leading professionals as a result of his remarkable work in Public Service. As Secretary Treasurer of Yachal Inc., as well as throughout his incredible professional career, Melvin has consistently demonstrated the vision, dedication and diligence necessary to be considered among the best.

Yachal Inc. is a nonprofit organization which provides resources for previously incarcerated individuals' re-entry to society. This dynamic ministry provides reform to a population of 960 incarcerated men, and support to more than 300 staff and Correctional Officers inside the Tennessee Southern State Regional Correctional Facility in Bledsoe County, Tennessee. By 2013, when a new unit of the prison is completed, the resident population will exceed 2,600 and the serve corps will grow to nearly 1,000.

The organization got its start when Dr. Melvin Pohlkotte and Dr. Roger Gupton were led to initiate Bledsoe Bible Institute at Southeastern Tennessee Regional Correctional Facility. They are currently ministering to 42 students face to face each week, and an additional 19 students on independent study, and seen by appointment. The ministry is based on the sincere belief that there can be no true reformation without spiritual transformation.

Yachal is an Old Testament Hebrew word used by David in the Psalms meaning, "Hope, but with reason" and it is the organization's goal to build sustainable hope for the future. They are dedicated to the prevention of crime, and the improvement of safety for our communities. Their work begins with troubled juveniles and adults through reduction and prevention of recidivism associated with those leaving incarceration. Yachal Inc. is in the process of pursuing a $20 billion a year statewide initiative to serve the more than 30,000 incarcerated male population in Tennessee.

Dr. Pohlkotte is responsible for raising funds and developing a directory to help individuals. After a 5 decade career as a Manufacturing Technology Consultant and Sales specialist, he has completed advanced degrees in counseling and ministry, and has initiated, and is administering and facilitating a Bible Institute leading to a "Graduate Degree in Theology" inside a medium/minimum security men's prison in Southeastern Tennessee. Dr. Pohlkotte suffered sudden cardiac death in 1993 which inspired him to change lives through caring and sharing.
