Dr. Emma Cassar Joins The Stanford Who's Who Community

Dr. Emma Cassar has been accepted among the prestigious ranks of Stanford Who's Who as a result of her remarkable professional career.

    PORT MELBOURNE, VIC, AUSTRALIA, May 19, 2011 /Stanford Who's Who/ -- Dr. Emma Cassar has been accepted among the prestigious ranks of Stanford Who's Who as a result of her remarkable professional career. As a Doctor and CEO of Open Family Australia, Dr. Cassar has consistently displayed the passion, vision and dedication necessary to be considered among the best.

Open Family Australia is a nonprofit organization which provides outreach support and services to young people who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness. They work in Victoria and New South Wales providing assertive outreach to vulnerable young people in their communities. They engage with young people to link them to services which can help them connect back into a supportive environment and a healthy community. This could include crisis support and services such as housing, health, drug and alcohol programs, family counseling, legal services, re-engagement back into school, and assisting young people to find suitable work.

Dr. Cassar was the first female and youngest person to ever transition from forensic psychology to an operations management role within the Victorian prison system. She is a Doctor of Forensic Psychology who has extensive expertise in helping the homeless and the rehabilitation of prisoners. Dr. Cassar served in the Prison System Victoria for 13 years, primarily as a General Manager, Prison services, managing budgets between 22.3 million and 38 million.

During her collegiate career, Dr. Cassar earned a Doctorate degree in Forensic Psychology. She is a member of the Psychology Board of Australia and the Australian Psychological Society. Dr. Cassar was the recipient of the Marie Claire Young Business Women's Award in 2009. She has been published and lectured on numerous occasions. In addition, she is actively involved with animal charities.
