Ms. Campanella is a firm believer that a strong early childhood education provides a priceless foundation for an individual's life. She has devoted her career to cultivating and encouraging the minds of young children; in fact, she established the Early Childhood Education Center, IL, a not-for-profit company, solely for this purpose. She is the facility's administrator, and she developed and made available through the Chicago Public Schools Department of Staff Development and the Illinois State Board of Education, a graduate-level course to manage student behavior. A mother of two and grandmother of six, her genuine caring nature is reflected in her career as an educator.
After obtaining a bachelor's degree in business administration from Lincoln University, Ms. Campanella went on to earn a master's degree in social psychology. She stays current in her field through affiliations with the Child Care Association of Illinois, Preschool Owners Association, Illinois State Board of Education, and Chicago Public Schools. Additionally, she served as a consultant for the Illinois State Board of Education. Her success in her career was formally recognized in 2006, when she was named Business Woman of the Year by the National Republican Congressional Committee. Ms. Campanella has also been honored with congressional citations from Senator Paul Simon and Senator Carol Moseley Braun, as well as a Letter of Honor from the Office of Reform for Chicago. In 2009, she was inducted as a VIP member of Cambridge Who's Who.
Aside from work, Ms. Campanella enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, and writing mystery plays. She also makes it a priority to support her local schools and children's hospitals.
