CHICAGO, IL, June 27, 2011 /Nonprofit PR News/ -- Barbra Luce-Turner, Principal and Founder of Raising The BoARd, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in fundraising.
The founder and principal of Raising The BoARd, Ms. Luce-Turner is instrumental in establishing boards for new nonprofit organizations around the country. Consulting with executive directors, staff members and donors, she conducts planning retreats to help create dynamic partnerships that will ensure successful operations. Ms. Luce-Turner, who possesses 19 years of professional experience, also works full time with the University of Illinois Medical Center as the director of development. Certified in fundraising management through The Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University, she is responsible for providing professional fundraising opportunities to support programs in pediatrics and women's health care.
Ms. Luce-Turner recently expanded her practice to include working with families on multi-generational giving and she has provided education retreats for family foundations wanting to engage younger members and change structure for third and fourth generation members. She is skilled in eliciting answers to the hard questions that revolve around inheriting money.
Ms. Luce-Turner is a member of the Association for Women in Science, ARCS Foundation, Inc., Be The Match Foundation, and the Healthy Schools Campaign. She supports a number of organizations throughout Illinois and Arizona where she winters. Barbra volunteers for the American Cancer Society and donates to a medical clinic in Haiti and a hospital in Guatemala. With the support of her family, she intends to expand her business and explore opportunities in translational research and personal medicine in the near future. Ms. Luce holds a master's degree in history and a bachelor's degree in history and English.
