Cheryll Nandee actively assists women in need through safe, long-term and family-style residential recovery facilities
CALGARY, AB, CANADA, July 21, 2011 /Nonprofit PR News/ -- Cheryll A. Nandee, Executive Director of Youville Recovery Residence for Women, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in nonprofit services.
Ms. Nandee was raised in a family of charitable people, which may explain why she chose to transition from a successful career in the banking industry to one in which she actively assists women in need. For the past five years, she has served as the executive director of the Youville Recovery Residence for Women. The organization operates five home-like facilities for women recovering from issues such as domestic abuse, addiction, depression and mental health distress. It offers safe, long-term, and family-style accommodations, as well as the support of professional counselors and outreach services that promote healing and personal growth. Upon leaving the residence, women are guided back into society and into rewarding and productive lives. Youville is aided through its partnerships with numerous donors and organizations.
As the executive director, Ms. Nandee is responsible for managing the program, hiring and evaluating staff, overseeing daily business operations, and fundraising. In addition to continuing her work with the program, she aspires to establish her own charity in the future, possibly for hungry children. She is affiliated with the Junior League of Calgary, Canadian Association of Gift Planners, and Association of Fundraising Professionals.
