Daniel Rader Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Grant Law
Mr. Rader followed his passion to help nonprofit organizations with their corporate governance and tax compliance
ARLINGTON, VA, February 17, 2012 /Nonprofit PR News/ -- Daniel Rader, Senior Counsel and Director of the Council on Foundations, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in tax-exempt organization law and nonprofit governance.
As Senior Counsel and Director of the Council on Foundations, Mr. Rader advises the nonprofit foundation association's organizational structure as it relates to ethical, fiduciary responsibilities, and in the management of the organization's intellectual property. He is responsible for providing assistance and knowledge of fiduciary, federal tax compliance, and investment management, endowment, governance, and grantmaking best practices to the Council's 1700+ grantmaking members. He became involved in the law of philanthropy because, while long engaged in public service organizations, he was inspired to pursue working with and within the philanthropic community to advance philanthropy's role in responding to and providing solutions to many of today's problems, both domestically and outside the United States.
Mr. Rader received a JD from Emory University School of Law in 1992. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and Virginia State Bar Association, as corporation counsel, and the American Bar Association Tax Section. In years to come, he hopes to pursue a position within a corporation, grantmaker, university or arts institution as in-house counsel or other senior management position to more directly advance the issue areas and causes he supports as a donor - the environment, children's health and well-being, international and domestic hunger and medical relief organizations, museums, journalism and public media organizations, and the protection of human and animal rights.
The Council on Foundations is a non-profit association with 1700+ grantmakers including corporate foundations, corporate giving programs, independent foundations, family foundations, international grantmakers, public charities and community foundations. The Council provides legal information, training, and other professional development opportunities for members and nonmember foundations alike.
